Summer Reading is in full swing here at Liberal Memorial Library with a new event or performance nearly every day of the week! All events are free of charge but some may have limited seating and require registration. Come to the library and checkout this year’s Summer Reading events.

Adventure Board Game Night – Teen Summer Reading

On Monday, June 17 at 5 pm, teens are invited to come to the library and play the games that we all know and love and maybe discover a new favorite.

Smoky Hills Share-A-Story Presentation with Jennifer Hanson

On Tuesday, June 18th at 11 am, Smoky Hills PBS is coming to our library to present Share A Story “Nature Cat”. Each child will get a book to take home.

Share a Story is a 45-60 minute program geared toward children ages 2-7. 

  • Read it – Jennifer Hanson will read a “Nature Cat” book to us
  • Watch it – We will watch a “Nature Cat” PBS kids video
  • Do it – We will Have fun making a craft

Closed for Juneteenth

The Library will be closed on Wednesday, June 19th in observance of Juneteenth National Independence Day. We will reopen on Thursday for our normal hours, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Aaron Fowler “The Adventure Begins Today!”

Musician Aaron Fowler is coming to the library on Thursday, June 20th at 11 am with his “The Adventure Begins Today!” Summer Reading program.

There will be singing, moving, playing instruments, and sharing stories, including stories from the latest book in the Bella and Choco series, The Boat. For ages 4 & up.

Blacklight Bingo

On Tuesday, June 25th at 3pm, bring the whole family to this fun spin on bingo. Be sure and wear neon and you may win some prizes!

What’s in the box? – Teen Summer Reading

Teens, got what it takes to unravel the secrets hidden within the box? On Wednesday, June 26th at 5pm, swing by our summer reading party and show off your detective skills!

Juggler Extraordinaire Richard Penner

Wacky adventures await on Thursday, June 27th at 2pm, when Richard Penner, Juggler Extraordinaire performs his Circus Arts Act!

Charcuterie 101 – Adult Summer Reading

On June 27th at 6 pm, come to the library to learn how to make beautiful charcuterie boards and enjoy a delicious tasting!
